Crystal Renn – HUNGRY
I’m currently waiting for this book called “HUNGRY” by model Crystal Renn, which chronicles on how she decided to gain weight and become a plus size model. I don’t really know her body of work, except the much talked about Jean Paul Gaultier runway and the beautiful Elle Italia cover, which I wouldn’t have realised it’s by a plus size model given that it’s a half body cover. Am anxiously, and patiently waiting for it to reach the stores in this little red dot, if ever.

Oh I remember her! She created quite a stir when she closed that Gaultier show! But she’s hardly anywhere now 😦
I watched this video of her somewhere before (try youtube, duh…) and she seems to be a really nice, bubbly girl!

Well, her agent at Ford did say that her salary is now reaching 7 figures. I guess that’s more than what Sasha could be earning, so she doesn’t have to bust her ass off trying to change the industry.

She’s not “hardly anywhere”. She’s been modelling for many plus size ranges (including Elena Miro, Anna Scholz and Topshop’s fat sister, Evans) and she’s done quite a few editorials in international high fashion magazines. I’ll admit that she doesn’t have the exposure of, say, a Victoria’s Secret model but she’s certainly kept busy.
I suppose I know this because I’m borderline obsessed with her and check the interwebs for new pictures. I’ve written about her a few times:
